Where to Work Out in San Francisco for Free

1. Lyon Street Steps

To be completely honest, just going out for a walk around the city is a workout in itself! With all those hills, you’re definitely building some muscle in your thighs. However, if you’re looking for a gorgeous place to work out your legs, I highly recommend Lyon Street Steps.

This iconic place will treat you to some serious cardio and to a beautiful view of the bay from the top. It’s so Instagram-worthy, might I add. The steps attract a mix of locals and tourists, making it a vibrant place to meet fellow fitness enthusiasts.

2. Marina Green Outdoor Gym

A fun workout you can do is run along the Marina green, and do some workouts at the Marina Green Outdoor Gym! I recommend bringing a bestie for this one, as it makes for a fun workout, and you can walk on over to Union St. for some coffee after!

Overlooking the beautiful Marina, this gym offers basic equipment for a variety of workouts against the picturesque backdrop of the bay.

3. Crissy Field

If you want to work out with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge, I highly recommend going for a jog or biking along the waterfront at Crissy Field. The views of the Golden Gate Bridge are unmatched, and the flat paths make it accessible for all fitness levels. Its open spaces are also perfect for a serene yoga session as the sun rises.

4. Kezar Stadium

Get your heart racing at Kezar Stadium, where public access to the track and field allows for a comprehensive workout. 5. Golden Gate Park

Spanning over 1,000 acres, Golden Gate Park offers countless trails for jogging or cycling. Find a quiet spot amidst its vast greenery for meditation or yoga. The park’s beauty will undoubtedly enhance your workout experience! Plus, any excuse to go to Golden Gate Park and admire its beauty is something you have to take!

For a more challenging run, hit the sands of Ocean Beach at low tide. The resistance from the sand adds an extra challenge, or opt for a peaceful yoga session to the sound of crashing waves.
