A Review of the Timbri Hotel in San Francisco
Background of Timbri Hotel
Located in the Mid-Market District, the Timbri Hotel is within arm’s width of everything that the city has to offer. From Chinatown, to the Ferry Building, and to the Transamerica Building, you’re less than a mile away from some of the most iconic places in the city.
When it came to the design of the property, the inspiration for its calming, lush, green decor came from wanting to provide a serene retreat in the city. From the modern greenhouse architecture, lots of foliage, and verdant lobby, the goal was to ensure that guests would come in feeling like they’ve reached the “zen den.”
Accommodation Features
The property provides a variety of different rooms to choose from. From standard guest rooms, to suites, and accessible rooms, they’ve got you covered.
No matter what room you book, you’ll love all of the thoughtful details put into the rooms. We stayed at the Skyline Superior Room, which came with a spacious bathroom, a flat screen TV, a mini-bar, a coffee maker, and stunning views of the city. There are lots of natural textures scattered all throughout, with a hint of a contemporary vibe. This understated luxury provides so much relaxation for your stay there.
The windows can open just a tad to let some fresh air in, however if you value silence, I recommend keeping those closed. You are in the center of the city, after all.
I also wanted to mention that the property does have a gym, accessible to all guests. It’s very spacious, with the latest sports equipment, and very clean.
Dining Options at the Timbri Hotel
There are a few dining options at the Timbri Hotel. If you love a good view, you’ll love the rooftop bar.
Rise Over Run Rooftop Bar
Up here, you can enjoy delicious Mediterranean-inspired food and drinks while admiring the San Francisco skyline. This is the perfect spot for hanging out with friends. I’ve personally made some really fun memories up there.
The bar offers a relaxed yet sophisticated ambiance. Whether it’s having a drink with a few friends, unwinding after a day of exploring, or just needing some air to breathe, the rooftop is a good spot to hang out in.
Dark Bar
Dark Bar is one you cannot miss out on, especially if you love a well made cocktail. This intimate, moody bar offers a unique take on making cocktails with an Asian flair. You absolutely cannot miss out on the food either. I personally favor the food at Dark Bar more than the food at Rise Over Run. Their pork belly is just.. wow.
Spoke Coffee
Spoke Coffee is the ideal spot for a morning pick-me-up before heading out to explore. They offer locally roasted brews from Equator Coffees and have a welcoming and friendly vibe.
Unique Hotel Services and Amenities
If you’re seeking more than just a getaway, the Timbri Hotel is also the ideal boutique hotel for corporate retreats, hosting unique events, and gatherings as they have two different event spaces that you can rent.
Personal Highlights and Recommendations
Well, first off, if you have a pet, don’t leave them at home and bring them here. This is one of the better pet friendly hotels in San Francisco. I had a pleasant experience staying here with my cat, Chandler Bing. He was honestly very comfortable and happy, and I’m not just saying that. You can see in my Youtube video just how content he is!
I also would love to mention that Rise Over Run is one of the better rooftop bars in San Francisco, considering they provide a lot of outdoor seating AND heating. It’s very toasty up there. If you’ve gone to enough rooftop bars in the city, you would know that it’s hard to enjoy your drink without shivering to death. You won’t have that problem up at Rise Over Run.
To be completely transparent, I don’t think that the LINE was performing up to par and the brand itself wasn’t putting a whole lot of effort into making it the go-to boutique hotel in San Francisco. I’m happy that the Hilton has taken over, which says a lot considering I’m not too big of a chain hotel person. I would imagine that in doing so, they can shed more light to this part of the city and breathe more life into this pocket.
Timbri Hotel: A Memorable Boutique Hotel in San Francisco
Those were my honest thoughts and my review on the Timbri Hotel. It’s a must-stay property for sure, so definitely add it to your list of places to stay the next time you visit San Francisco or are seriously needing a staycation.
I highly recommend booking your stay (and all stays in general) through Plannin, where you can find the best deals for hotel rates. And if you’re planning on flying into SFO, I highly recommend using Wayaway.io for the best rates for flights. Try it out for yourself below.
