What is The Battery San Francisco?
The Battery is a super posh members only club here in San Francisco. Think of it as Soho House’s cousin. It’s basically a majorly cool hub that started off as a catalyst for giving back to the local community. But fast forward to now, it’s a kick-ass, members-only spot featuring a few extravagant restaurants and bars, a swanky boutique hotel, and all these lavish parties that are – and this is no exaggeration – off the charts.
What I love most about this place, though, is its goal: uniting innovative thinkers from all walks of life, creating an environment that’s so much more than your typical eat, drink and party kinda deal.
Basically, Battery Powered is the living proof that this can actually work – encouraging generosity, community, and opening up paths for making things happen.
Before I get started – is Barbiecore still a thing? I might be late to the bandwagon. Anyway, you can shop the outfit here!
What is Battery Powered?
When the founders Michael and Xochi Birch founded The Battery, they wanted to expand their efforts to further enhance reformation in San Francisco and beyond. That’s when Battery Powered was born. Battery Powered has done some phenomenal work, raising over $30 million for criminal justice reform, climate action, addiction recovery, and more.
How was the event at The Battery?
From inspiring talks by the founders, the senator, the mayor, as well as grantees that have made a difference in their communities, to a stunning performance by the Prototype inside the bar, as well as a beautiful spoken word performance by a member of the San Francisco Poet Laureate, the evening was very memorable.
I loved watching everyone soak up and exchange great vibes about what’s good and what can get better in San Francisco and beyond.
Event Recap: 10 Year Anniversary of Battery Powered at The Battery
After attending this event, I was opened up to a whole different side of San Francisco, and one worth getting to know more about. Will I ever become a member? Perhaps in the future.
For now, I’ll admire the club from afar.
