The Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay Review
There is an abundance of places to visit in this majestic world of ours, and Half Moon Bay in Northern California should definitely be on your list. This humble little beach town is home to stunning views of the coastline, warm hospitality, and a wide array of outdoor activities. Half Moon Bay is truly such a special place, and the Ritz Carlton compliments this beach town so well.
Perched on the cliffs overlooking the gorgeous Pacific Ocean, the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay is a blend of both coastal beauty and refined luxury that offers a unparalleled escape for all its guests. Just a 45 minute drive from San Francisco, this property offers not only stunning views but also a sanctuary of relaxation and indulgence.
Arriving at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay + First Impressions
The drive to this property already perfectly sets the scene for a perfect getaway. As you drive along the coastline, expect to be placed in a state of both tranquility and excitement for your stay.
Upon arrival, there is a security checkpoint, and you are then guided to the valet. I personally love the security checkpoint, as this makes the property more exclusive and safe for all guests staying there.
I always say, valet can either make or break a hotel’s first impression and it’s safe to say that the valet is incredibly professional, attentive, and friendly. They really ensure that your first moments are filled with genuine warmth and hospitality. The charm of the resort is immediate, setting the tone for an opulent stay.
Staying at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay
There are a few hotel rooms that you can choose to book for your stay. If you want a view of the ocean, I would opt for the Coastal View suite. If you want a view of the lawn, ocean, and some golf course views, I’d opt for the Guest House Fire Pit Room. If you’re a huge golfer and want a view of the golf course, you can choose to stay in the Guest House room.
Each room boasts modern yet timeless decor, plush bedding, and state-of-the-art amenities. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect, ensuring every stay is nothing less than extraordinary. Whether you’re gazing out at the ocean or unwinding in your opulent bathroom, relaxation and indulgence are guaranteed.
Pet Friendly Luxury Hotel in Half Moon Bay
I also want to add that all pets are welcome, both cats and dogs, for a fee of $250/night.
Terrace Fire Pit – Room Tour
During our stay, we stayed in the Terrace Fire Pit, which is the room I would recommend for couples, small families, and girl’s trips.
The Terrace Fire Pit comes with a plush king bed, a very deep and spacious bathtub, a giant TV screen, a wardrobe, a work/dining area, as well as an outdoor private terrace with a fire pit. I highly recommend ordering a s’mores kit when staying at a room with a fire pit.
The room is spacious and very grand, and with daily room and turndown service, you’ll always come back to a tidy, organized room.
A Peek into the Newly Renovated Spa at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay
This year, the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay recently unveiled the newly renovated spa for all guests. This wellness haven is a must visit when staying at the property. You can choose to get a day pass for $45 or book a treatment and spend an unforgettable morning/afternoon there.
The newly upgraded changing rooms, serene relaxation lounges, and enhanced water features—including a Himalayan Salt sauna, steam room, cold plunge bath (only in the men’s side of the spa), and mineral whirlpool—create a calming atmosphere. Treatment rooms, reimagined by the creative team at Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), offer a lavish and serene retreat that promises an unmatched ambiance of luxury.
I cannot tell you just how stunning this spa truly was, and how incredible it felt to book a treatment there and spend a morning there.
