That scene where Jane and his father are setting up camp with the safari tents always pops up in my head. While walking around Radio Ranch Camp, I couldn’t help but run that scene through my head over and over again, because the tents reminded me so much of Tarzan!

Alpine Camp is Radio Ranch Camp’s newest addition to the property. This tiny house is situated next to the 30-foot waterfall, offers 120 sq. ft of comfortable, indoor living space with a pop-up canopy that allows you to immerse yourself to the beauty of nature. This cabin is equipped to keep you warm all year round with its electric heater, oh-so-cozy bed and fluffy pillows, and its warm blankets.

There’s nothing I loved more than sitting on one of the chairs outside of Alpine Camp and staring at the waterfall in the morning, with a cup of coffee in hand. If you’re looking for the perfect place to unplug and sit in silence for just a moment, this is truly the place to be.

You can book the entire camp as well!

My honest thoughts on Radio Ranch Camp

I’ve had my fair share of memories up in Humboldt. I remember falling in love with its foggy, mysterious coast nearly 10 years ago. I remember hiking up to an abandoned logging bridge with some friends from college, and falling in love with each stride we took. I loved eating a slice of pie at Humboldt Pie after a self care session at Cafe Mokka. I remember that surreal, quiet feeling that I felt when I woke up in Ferndale a few years back. I remember walking around barefoot almost everywhere I went, feeling the wet soil under my toes, tearing up while watching a flock of birds get ready to fly up, up, and away.

I never understood why, or what, drew me to Humboldt. I just knew I always felt called to it, like a siren singing to a sailor in the dead of the night.

If you’re into astrocartography at all, I looked into why Humboldt was so special to me.

I saw that being further and further up north would mean that I’d be happier, and I’d become a recluse, focusing on spiritual work, being more creative than I have ever been. I felt validated by what I read and with this knowledge I now knew why it was so special to me specifically.

When I set sail to leave my little hometown of Glendora, I left with a mission that I would continue this life by moving more and more up north, to the point where I’d reach the pinnacle of happiness.

Whenever I’m up north, I can feel that pure happiness radiate from within. It’s an addicting feeling, and every time I leave I feel like the X amount of days I spent there were simply not enough.

Now I understand why bees are drawn to flowers, the way I am drawn to the cool ocean breeze, the miles and miles of forest, and the pure energy of Humboldt.

I’m grateful that a place like Humboldt exists, and a place like Radio Ranch Camp exists.

So that people like me, who are drawn to this magical place, have a place to call home whenever we feel called to come.

I truly enjoyed my stay here and I hope that this review inspires you to book a stay here for an unforgettable glamping adventure in Humboldt County!
