3 Valid Reasons to Fall in Love with a Fashion Brand
There are three things I value most when it comes to fashion and those three things are what will make me fall in love with a brand and become a loyal consumer:
Sustainability Initiatives
First and most important is a fashion brand’s sustainability initiatives. I hate fast fashion. It’s awful to think about how much waste goes into our planet just from fashion alone. I’ve always been a fan of vintage shopping, thrifting, and donating clothes, however this year I have made it my life’s mission to only support sustainable fashion brands here on out.
I’m drawn to companies that weave environmental responsibility into their brand values, such as Ganni, Sézane, and Acne Studios. From ethically sourcing materials to adopting eco-friendly production processes, these initiatives reflect a deep-rooted sense of responsibility, inspiring a profound connection between myself and the brand I’m choosing to support.
High Quality Clothing
This one’s a no brainer, but I can’t stand having clothing items that lose its integrity after one wash or can’t withstand the test of time. Craftsmanship, durability, and attention to detail are everything to me and everything I take into consideration for every piece of clothing I welcome to my wardrobe. After all, I believe in providing fine hand-me-downs to my kids one day!
The essence of a high-quality piece isn’t just in the way it feels against my skin or how elegantly it drapes—it’s a testament to the brand’s commitment to excellence and a promise of enduring satisfaction.
Timeless Fashion Pieces
Lastly, is if the clothing item and brand can outshine trends and continue to be worn for years to come. I love versatile pieces of clothing that can withstand through various phases of my life and pair effortlessly with a myriad of different styles. When I look at something, I truly think about the next 10 years of my life with it. I no longer buy something out of the feeling that it’ll look good on my next Instagram post, but more so will it still be in style and do I see myself wearing it over brunch with my family in a few years.
Discovering FRENCHMAUVE
FRENCHMAUVE reached out to me and asked to send me a clothing item of my choice, and I happily said yes after perusing through their collection and getting to know them more through what I found on their website.
The brand was born in downtown Los Angeles in 2016, vowing to grace the world of fashion with its contemporary, sophisticated, and timeless pieces. They’re best known for their coveted blazers. As the brand grew over the years, so did its collection. They provide complete ready-to-wear collections comprised of pieces that exude a beautiful blend of elegance, confidence, and versatility.
While FRENCHMAUVE doesn’t explicitly state their sustainability initiatives, I can tell from their website that they aren’t the type of clothing brand to mass produce clothing items and produce a lot of waste. Their website showcases pieces that are thoughtfully curated and there is no sign of overwhelming product ranges like Fashion Nova or frequent sales promotions being pushed out. Everything, down to their newsletter, is well thought out and consciously created.

Must Have Item: Vera Vest Linen Waistcoat
There’s one top that I wore more than once in the month of September and no it wasn’t a fuzzy sweatshirt or a comfy t-shirt from my boyfriend’s closet. It was the Vera Vest Linen Waistcoat. I absolutely loved this top and it literally received so many compliments everywhere that I went. I found that it paired well with some oversized boyfriend jeans and tan leather pants. The top just speaks for itself and proves to be a gem for years and years to come.
I’ll definitely be retiring it for a little while considering I wore it so many times… Lol.
