Four Seasons San Francisco: The Most Romantic Getaway in the City
Another weekend, another staycation. This week’s staycation was an ode to the season of love celebrated in the embrace of sublime luxury. My partner and I stayed at the Four Seasons San Francisco, one of the best, if not, the best hotel in San Francisco.
A staycation is, in short, a blissful escape from the ordinary, and one I don’t mind indulging in at least once or twice a month. It’s no surprise this is the way we decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year, and we’re grateful that we did it in the best hotel in San Francisco. The Four Seasons San Francisco made our weekend so memorable and I’m so excited to share it with you.
If you’re looking for the most romantic hotel in San Francisco, your search ends right here.
Arrival and First Impressions of the Four Seasons San Francisco
On a rainy evening, we drove to the Four Seasons San Francisco with a lot of excitement and anticipation on how our weekend would unravel. I’ve always known the Four Seasons to be very upscale, elegant, and refined, so I had set the bar high for this property.
As we approached the valet, we were greeted with kindness, warmth, and excellence. If you’ve stayed at enough hotels like I have, you’ll notice that the valet (aka your first intro to the hotel) sets the bar on how the rest of the staff will be. I was pleased to be welcomed by such professional hospitality.
The check in process was swift, and we were welcomed with water upon our arrival. Once we stepped inside, we knew we had chose the right place to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
The Accommodations at Four Seasons San Francisco
We were escorted to our room, an embodiment of modern living dressed in shades of blue, accented by cool steel tones and golden brass. Very aesthetically pleasing. Our room was adorned with rose petals scattered on the ground, leading to our king bed with a giant heart made from the same petals. By the window, there’s a table with a bottle of Moët & Chandon, chocolates, and a welcome letter from the team.
Floor-to-ceiling windows framed breathtaking views of San Francisco. The luxurious king bed, outfitted with plush down bedding, promised comfort, while the marble bathroom boasted an irresistible deep-soaking tub – an amenity we quickly appreciated. The staff had also gifted us rose petals and a rose bath bomb to use during our stay there.
Dining Experience at MKT Restaurant and Bar
We celebrated our first Valentine’s evening at the hotel’s in-house restaurant, MKT Restaurant and Bar. Locally-sourced steaks and unique seafood dishes graced the menu, each tasting as divine as they sounded. We were well taken care of and greeted by the chef himself, ensuring we were going to have a dinner to remember.
Indeed we did. They curated a tasting menu for us, showing off all of their decadent meals and cocktails. While I loved every single meal that was brought out to us, the meal that stood out the most was the 40-day dry aged rib eye. It was so so so delicious.
Breakfast was also top notch. You really cannot go wrong with whatever you order at MKT. Each meal is perfectly made and served beautifully.
Amenities and Services at the Four Seasons
Guests at the Four Seasons have unlimited access to the Equinox Sports Club located downstairs, which we took full advantage of. Offering state-of-the-art machines, an array of classes, and an indoor swimming pool, it’s far from the typical hotel gym. This allows you to, yes, work out, but also meet and work out with San Francisco locals, giving you a much better experience than just another hotel gym. I loved going in the early morning for a sauna and steam session.
Exploring San Francisco
The hotel’s prime location meant landmarks like Union Square were just a stroll away. When staying here, you can indulge in a romantic trolley ride, explore cozy cafes, and indulge in some retail therapy at the upscale boutiques nearby. Past the shopping districts, you can find your way to the picturesque waterfront, adding a stunning backdrop to your romantic escapade.
While you’re there, I highly recommend you spend the morning at SF MOMA then walk over to Flour & Branch for some yummy breakfast!
Things to Love About the Four Seasons San Francisco
What truly sets the Four Seasons apart is the attention to details. Twice-daily housekeeping service ensured we returned to a pristine room every time. The automatic turndown service, the friendly bellmen, and the ever-buzzing lobby teeming with smiles — each aspect amplified the sense of hospitality, making our stay nothing short of exceptional.
The Most Romantic Hotel in San Francisco
I was very pleased with my experience at the Four Seasons San Francisco. It truly is the most romantic hotel in San Francisco, perfect for couples seeking a city getaway. The exceptional service, the luxurious comfort, and the romantic cityscape created an experience that we’ll always remember.
For any couple seeking an unforgettable Valentine’s Day, we highly recommend the Four Seasons San Francisco – a venue that sure knows how to make love feel luxurious.
